I've never really gotten the fuss over valentines day but at the same time that could be because i've never had a real valentines day date. At the same time though I don't really mind not having a boyfriend or someone special to take me out on a romantic date. Yes, that would be wonderful if I did but at the same time it's just as fun to spend the night in watching movies and sipping wine with the girlfriends.
I sit in my kitchen now with a huge glass of wine and some coconut chicken feeling completely content with my plans for the night. A few more glasses of wine and a few laughs throughout the night is how I anticipate the rest of my evening to go.
In my eyes, I say raise your glass and make a toast to yourself and all the other single girls who are happily unarmed. You have no commitment to anyone, you can do whatever you want with whoever you want (although I don't suggest turning into this type of girl every weekend), and the best part of all is that at this point in your life, where ever that may be, it is okay to be single. Even though there are times that I wish I was in a relationship I also realize that I really only want someone to cuddle with on lazy sundays. I have no desire to be emotionally attached to someone right now in my life and I'm completely okay with that. I know that there will be time when the right guy comes into my life and right now just isn't that time.
So, to all my single ladies I would like to raise a toast to you because if it weren't for you I wouldn't be having a fun gf filled valentines night.

I'm trying this new thing where I try and get my point across in fewer words. So a few weeks ago I went out to lunch with my dad at this amazing Turkish cafe right in town called Cafe Mangal. It's just this little shop with maybe 10 tables squished together. I used to go here all the time with my mom and order a croissant every time when I was younger. I occasionally go with my dad but not nearly as frequently as it is fairly expensive.
Anyway when I went with my dad this time the salads just looked so delicious that I had to take a picture and share them with you all.
Oh and here's another new thing, a takeaway...sometimes a delicious meal with good company is all that's needed to round out a good day.

With all these long weekends and start of second semester in school, I've decided to get a lil crafty. I always get excited to do a little DIY but somehow never actually follow through. This time I managed to create something rather than gather a bunch of materials that end up just sitting in my room.
Now, this may look like a simple task but the cutting of cd's and gluing is very very tedious. Who knew cd's were so hard and messy to cut. Below are a few directions for how to do this great DIY.
Materials:
•3-4 CD's
•wood/plastic adhesive
•base for the CD's
•wire cutters
Directions:
•cut CD's in various shapes and sizes
•separate the clear part of the CD from the colored part (some CD's •will be easier than others)
•place a small amount of the adhesive on the cd
•adjust CD pieces to equally fit among the base
•TADA!! you're done!!

Even though winter is my least favorite season of all time, I eventually gave in and went out on the pond. I sucked up the painful numbing feeling of skates and the cold air. After skating around a bit, I began to remember why I'm sometimes able to tolerate the winter weather.
Here are just a few pictures of some pond time over the last few days. Not to mention that if you get out just in time when the sun begins to set, you can capture some of the most breathtakingly awesome pictures.

1. Everything will work itself out. Just give it time.
Take a breath.
Step outside of the situation and soon enough things will fall into place. Don't waste time contemplating the maybes and what ifs.
Instead stay hopeful.
It will all workout darling.
2. Don't do little cries.
Feelings demand to be felt so give them the justice they deserve.
Pick a day, probably a Sunday because they're already depressing,
and cry.
Full on cry.
Cry until there's snot on your chin and more mascara on your knuckles than eyelashes.
Then call a friend and cry at them so you don't get the urge to post a pathetic tweet like
'I love crying NOT lol'.
-Charly Cox
3. Gatorade makes a great mixer.
Always have gatorade at a party.
It will make any shitty vodka taste like a hot bartender just whipped up a glass of fruity deliciousness.
4. Unfollow people who complain on Twitter.
They just make you want to complain about them complaining.
Unless they make you laugh by stating their irrelevant complaints, they don't need your follow.
5. Don't procrastinate.
I should probably take my own advice.
It's fun to do but gets you no where besides about 5 episodes ahead in whatever Netflix show has sucked you in.
All in all,
procrastinate less... limit yourself to 2 episodes rather than finishing off the season.
6. Laugh. A lot.
It's true what they say, laughing is the best medicine.
Like crying, don't do little laughs.
Laugh until theres tears pouring down your face and you can't breathe.
Those are the best kinds of laughs.
So grab a really good friend, or just a friend that makes you want to laugh so hard you have to pee your pants and have a ball.
7. Sam Smith has the voice of an angel.
I don't think there is one person on this earth that will disagree with me.
Besides Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith will do wonders to your mood.
Happy, sad, mad, you name it.
Now I won't go all fangirl over him but I will say that he will become your everything anthem.
Guarantee.
8. Pillow Pets are still in style.
Now I can't recall if they were every actually in style but they are the key to happiness.
They also provide you will endless cuddles.
Which is always a plus.
Who doesn't love a good cuddle.
And they provide good conversation starters like 'why do you have a pillow pet?'
9. Do you and no one else.
This was not meant to sound sexual...at all.
Don't let anyone else change who you are, let them make you a better person instead.
Take time for yourself.
Girl, you deserve a GNO (girls.night.out)to drink and be merry.
10. Make the best of the situation.
Don't let one small thing offset your whole day or night.
Take a deep breath, step back, and take what's in front of you by the reigns and just go with it.
Don't be a wet blanket.
Just don't.
Be the blanket that everyone wants to cuddle under (again not meant to be sexual). Be the one that makes everyone realize that the kick ass plans didn't actually get ruined but instead just got a lot more ass kicking.
Be optimistic and trust yourself that you will be okay.
